Despite facing multiple legal challenges, former President Donald Trump continues to dominate the Republican primary field, according to a new national poll released by Liberty Pulse News. The poll shows Trump with a commanding 54% support among likely GOP voters, far ahead of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (17%) and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley (11%).

Analysts say the numbers reflect Trump’s enduring influence within the Republican base, which appears largely unshaken by his ongoing court cases. “It’s almost as if the indictments have galvanized his supporters even more,” said political analyst Dana Keller.

The poll also asked respondents whether Trump’s legal troubles would affect their support. Surprisingly, 63% of Trump supporters said they would continue to back him even if he were convicted, citing distrust in the judicial system and belief that the cases are politically motivated.

Trump responded to the poll results on his Truth Social platform, writing, “Thank you to the GREAT AMERICAN PEOPLE! Together, we will finish what we started!”

Meanwhile, other Republican candidates are struggling to gain traction. DeSantis has attempted to position himself as a younger, more disciplined alternative, while Haley has focused on foreign policy and generational change—but neither has significantly cut into Trump’s lead.

With early primaries just months away, the Republican race is shaping up to be a test of Trump’s staying power—and of the GOP’s future direction.
